The preparation before the vulcanization
1.1 Determine the detailed parameters of the hot vulcanized joint
Conveyor belt parameters include: conveyor belt tensile strength, conveyor belt width, conveyor belt thickness, upper cover rubber thickness, lower cover rubber thickness, wire rope diameter.
The tensile strength of the conveyor belt is the basis for selecting the length of the hot vulcanized joint.
Conveyor belt width is an important parameter for the selection of thermally vulcanized joint materials.
The thickness of the upper cover rubber, the thickness of the lower cover rubber, and the diameter of the wire rope are the parameters for the material budget of the hot vulcanized joint.
1.2 Confirm environmental conditions
1.2.1 The working place requirements: air drying, the working place environment and material temperature beyond 10°C. The humidity of the surrounding environment must be less than 80%, the terrain is flat, the ventilation is good, and there is no large amount of dust.
In order to ensure the quality and durability of the joint, it is essential to provide a clean and sheltered workplace and to use and operation for the joint splicing machine and materials correctly.
Beveled surfaces and the film of the exposed rope surfaces must be kept absolutely clean. Any effects of humidity must be absolutely avoided, such as condensation into water (temperature reduction below zero).
1.2.2 If the construction site conditions cannot meet the requirements, should try best to improve it, even setting up tents is a helpful movement.
1.2.3 Prepare construction tools and joint materials, and check whether the vulcanizer works normally. Joint rubber materials products must be stored in a dry, dark place within the temperature of 25° (in accordance with DIN7716), and checked for shelf life and production date before use them.
2.1 Observe the location and space of the operation on site, select the operation space where tools and equipment can be located and transportation very convenient .
Requirement: Sufficient working space is required. It is not suitable for working on the conveyor equipment frame. It should be placed on the ground with relatively flat terrain.
Note: Wrong working space will make the staff insufficient, the safety cannot be guaranteed, and it will also affect the working time. And will also influence peel steel wire rope when make splicing joint. The wrong space also have no enough space to place the vulcanizing press machine.
2.2 Confirm the lifting distance of the conveyor belt to ensure the operation
Requirement: The conveyor belt need to be hoisted out of the distance to facilitate the normal operation of multiple people pulling the wire, and there is a certain space for personnel to move is also necessary;
Note: This can ensure the safety and space of the staff operation.
2.3 Confirm the applicable power for the splicing tools.
Requirements: Voltage 220V, power 4kw. If working underground but without explosion-proof tools, it is necessary to communicate with the customer in advance to go through special procedures for underground operations. During the on-site operation, the customer needs to arrange a special electrician to accompany the operation all the time.
Basis: The voltage must be accurate, and the transformer capacity must be satisfied.
2.4 Confirm the transportation methods for the splicing materials and tools.
Requirements: The transportation can be done by car or trolley if it can be reached by car on the ground. If it is underground, the customer needs to arrange for personnel to cooperate with the transportation.
2.5 Confirm the site placement of the vulcanizer press equipment.
Set up the workbench and the vulcanizing machine, and the working area is composed of the lower body of the vulcanizing machine (including the heating plate and the beam). The vulcanizing press heating plate must be equal level with the working table to avoid tension during the belt splice process. Make sure that the heating plate is 150mm longer than both ends of the joint part in the length direction, and 50mm wider than both sides of the joint part in the width direction.
